Dr. Petra Kaczensky is a researcher with the Research Institute of Wildlife Ecology at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, Austria. She has international recognized expertise working with wildlife, especially wild equids and carnivores, gained from combined years of work and study in Mongolia, Europe and North America. Her focus has been on habitat use of large carnivores and ungulates, habitat fragmentation, protected area management, large-carnivore human conflicts and their mitigation and human dimensions in wildlife conservation. Petra Kaczensky is a member of the IUCN Equid- and Bear Specialist Group.
