My name is Elmar Babaev, at the age of 30 (2011). In 2002 I graduated from biological faculty of Daghestan State University. Being a student I walked all over the North Caucasus, took part in research excursions a lot of. We also took place in educational training of local people, attracted volunteers.
In 2006 I obtained academic degree (PhD) on ecology specialty. My work was dedicated to estimate of wild boar population biology (sex-age, demographic, space-temporal structures, density) in Daghestan. Factors determine boar state in Daghestan especially human press.
Today I have been working in the Russian Academy of Sciences Biology and Ecology department as researcher. We closely cooperate with specialist from neighbour regions of Russia (Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkaria) and countries (Azerbaijan, Georgia). I was executor and volunteer in many grants funded by conservation and research funds.
I am a member of Russian Theriology Union.
My scientific interests: conservation, biology, ecology of ungulates and large carnivores.
