Large herbivores are vital to a healthy and balanced ecosystem. Apart from being excellent landscape-keepers and creators, large herbivores are also important for flora and fauna species like predators and carrion eaters, and their survival. 

Based on existing information (esp. IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, and many experts) LHNet gathered interesting information, maps and illustrations of all circa 35 species of large herbivores in Eurasia.
