No significant differences between the Eurasian Black Vulture and the Himalayan Vulture are known. More information is most welcome.
For species information: see Eurasian Black Vulture.
This species occurs mainly in the mountainous portions of central Asia, although juveniles winter in lowland portions of the Indian subcontinent. Vultures nest in niches on cliff walls, but do not form large nesting colonies. This is unexpected because other Gyps vulture species like the Griffon Vulture have been known to do this at secure nesting sites like cliffs. Because of the mountainous nature of the Himalayan Vultures habitat little is know about its foraging strategies.
As far as we know, there are no distribution maps available.
Native within the LHNet range: Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russian Federation, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan
