The Zoological Society of London is hosting the Symposium Antelope Conservation in the 21st century: from diagnosis to action.
This Conference would be the ninth in the cycle of international meetings concerning the Wisent. The conference will take place in North-East Poland in the region of many lakes and beautiful landscapes, with ancient atmosphere of Jatwinger and Prussians backwoods. The Arctic Ungulate Conference (AUC) is an international conference held every four years. Yellowknife will be your host for the next AUC in August 2011. The theme of the conference – Challenges of Managing Northern Ungulates – will address the difficulties of managing ungulate populations that are faced with the unpredictable effects of climate change and an ever-increasing human presence on the land. The conference will also focus on the challenges associated with developing recovery actions for declining caribou and reindeer populations that are an integral part of Aboriginal cultures and ways of life. On 10 and 11 of May 2011 the LHNet-team organized a regional and focussed network meeting in Moscow, combined with a field visit to two potential areas for free roaming European bison.
